Art activity for kids: One Book One Town event

In its eighth year, Fairfield’s One Book One Town reading initiative is in full swing at all three libraries. On Thursday, March 19, from 4-5 p.m., Pequot Library hosts an Art Activity for children ages 6 and up.

While the 2015 One Book One Town selection, Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel, is a book for high school age and up, Pequot Library created a hands-on art activity for children ages 6+ that is STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) focused! The book is a dystopian science-fiction novel about present day and 20 years into the future. It’s a stirring story about the way we live now and finding beauty in the world and what is important in life.

The art workshop leader is Heather-Marie Montilla, MPA, executive director of Pequot Library. Registration is required with a materials fee of $5, contact Marianne Pysarchyk at 203-259-0346, ext. 19 or [email protected]

For more information, visit pequotlibrary.org or call 203-259-0346 ext. 15. Follow Pequot Library on Facebook and Twitter. Pequot Library Brings Culture to Life!
