Stop ‘baseless’ attacks

To the Editor:

In response to RTM member Jay Wolk’s letter, I’d like to make two comments.

First, please stop the baseless character assassinations. It would be more productive for you to discuss the very real problems our state faces, such as massive unemployment and debt, rather than boring us with overused, tired expressions about “ideologues.”

Secondly, Kim Fawcett has missed major votes. Those are facts. She did not vote on the 2012 Death Penalty repeal (S.B. 280). Fawcett was absent. This means she skipped out on voting for a critical policy change in Connecticut.

Kim also missed voting for an amendment (LCO #3172) that would have allowed Connecticut citizens to decide for or against the death penalty themselves via a referendum.

As a registered Independent, I believe taxpayers in the 133rd District deserve to be represented on such impacting issues; it’s why we elect people to office in the first place.
