Virginia songwriter Pat McGee plays at FTC

Fairfield Theatre Company welcomes the unique and exceptional Virginia songwriter, Pat McGee and his extraordinary band to StageOne in support of his new album Saturday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m., 70 Sanford Street.

After witnessing his neighbor smash an electric guitar in the middle of the street, Pat McGee new what he wanted to become at a young age.  With a little help from his brother, including the advice of not playing left-handed like him, Pat was hooked and was soon on his way to success.

He honed his skills by playing locally in his home state of Virginia. With his simple melodies and sentimental lyrics which tug on the heartstrings of the everyday man, it’s clear how his music, wholesome with its rock energy, caught on. With nearly two decades of recording and touring McGee has remained humble and dedicated to his craft ever since his first independent solo album was released in 1996.

For McGee, success seemed like a dream that came true almost overnight. It wasn’t long until the young uprising music star was performing alongside such acclaimed acts as Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, Ziggy Marley, Counting Crows, The Wallflowers and playing dates on the now nostalgic  H.O.R.D.E. tour.

Having thrived as an artist selling over 100,000 records, Pat McGee comes to StageOne where he looks to continue his musical journey by bringing a unique evening of music to the intimate venue with the help of a few friends in support of his soon to be released self-titled solo album.

This double length album may be considered his strongest work to date. Compiled over the last few years, the songs McGee pours out on this album evokes emotions that McGee previously shied away from. Deeply personal pain, pleasure, regret, bliss, resentment, love, anger, fear, and peace of mind all pour out as McGee pulls from his inspiration of using the folk instruments and sounds he grew up adoring, from acoustic guitar, mandolin to fiddle and bazouki. Calling upon the help of a few old friends including Russ Kunkel, Leland Sklar, Waddy Wachtel, Danny Kortchmar, Jeff Pevar , Little Feat’s Paul Barrere, Blues Traveler’s John Popper, Train’s Pat Monahan and The  Punchbrother’s Gabe Witcher, this new album will hit a chord with his dedicated fan base as well as first timers who may have never heard the performer before.

Come join the Fairfield Theatre Company as they welcome Pat McGee and a rarely exceptional band that you will have to be in attendance to find out who is playing with him for this special night of music as Pat continues to thrive in his musical journey that you won’t want to miss.

For tickets, at $28 in advance, visit or call 203-259-1036.
