Soccer teams tie

The Fairfield Warde and Fairfield Ludlowe girls soccer teams played to a 0-0 draw on Tuesday.
Katie Brennan had 10 saves for Warde (6-0-2) and Bridget Clarke made seven stops for Ludlowe (3-2-2).
Fairfield Warde improved to 6-0-1 on the season with a 4-0 girls soccer victory over Staples High in Westport on Saturday.
Emily Pullen scored three goals and Nell Carpenter one.
Virginia LaRouche had three assists and Carly Strachan one.
Katie Brennan had two saves and Strachan one.
Warde scored two goals in each half to defeat Bridgeport Central, 4-0, on Thursday.
Emily Pullen, Carpenter, Claire Pullen and Jenn Maldenado found the net for the Mustangs.
Maldenado had two assists and Sarah Reilly one.
Brennan and Strachan shared the shutout in goal.
Prep football
The Jesuits lost to top-ranked Xavier of Middletown, 35-14, in a battle of SCC unbeatens on Saturday night.
Xavier (3-0) scored 21 points before Prep (2-1) got on the board when Strecker Backe threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to John Moten.
Liam Coyle’s conversion kick made it 21-7 at the half.
Moten caught a 42-yard scoring pass from Backe in the third quarter to match a score by Xavier, which added another touchdown in the final period.

Warde football
Dawud Mohamad scored on a six-yard run for Warde when the Mustangs lost 35-6 to visiting New Canaan on Saturday.
New Canaan (2-1) led 14-0 after one quarter and 28-0 at the half.
It was 35-0 when Mohamad scored in the final period.
Notre Dame football
Notre Dame dropped a 55-12 SWC decision to unbeaten Joel Barlow in Redding on Saturday.
Tajik Bagley returned a kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown and Jalani Roman scored on a 70-yard pass from Glody Tumba for the Lancers (0-3).
Barlow (3-0) led 21-0 after one and 49-6 at the half.
Notre Dame boys soccer
Kenny Fan scored a second-half goal and the Notre Dame defeated Weston High, 1-0, on Monday.
Fernando Olivares had the assist for the Lancers (1-4-1).
Ludlowe girls volleyball
Emily Nelson had 13 kills and 12 service points to help Ludlowe defeat St. Joseph, 3-1, in Trumbull on Friday.
Casey Boatwright had seven service points, five digs and three blocks for the Falcons (5-1).
Nelson added seven aces and nine digs to stop the Cadets (4-3).
Ludlowe swept Stamford, 3-0, on Monday.
Warde field hockey
Warde turned back Westhill of Stamford, 6-1, in FCIAC field hockey action on Monday.
Erin Hines scored for goals for the Mustangs (5-1-1-1).
Kelly Milicia and Lindsey Adams also found the net.
Emily Allen had three assists, Erin Hines, Megan Hines and Adams one each.
Katy Stepsis stopped two shots by Westhill (0-5-0-1).
Milicia and Erin Hines scored two goals each and Darci Byington also found the net when Warde defeated Danbury High, 5-0, on Friday.
Allen had two assists and Hines and Becca Mitri one each.
Stepsis had two saves, as the Hatters dipped to 3-3.
Prep soccer
Dave Bigley, Blake Roberts and Will Steiner, who also played goal in the 3-0 SCC boys soccer victory, led Prep past Notre Dame of West Haven on Thursday.
