Donnelly Dash — a community challenge

The Donnelly Dash is a community challenge that celebrates the lives of Tim & Kim Donnelly. Participants can enjoy a 3.5 mile run or 1.8 mile walk that will be held on Sunday, April 12, at Tomlinson Middle School on 200 Unquowa Rd. Fairfield.

The annual event is hosted by M.S. Running Productions, The Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestra & the Fairfield Police Explorers, with help from the the Donnelly Family  and members of the running community.

Proceeds will benefit a variety of non-profits, who have joined together to raise funding for themselves and the Donnelly Dash charities.

Moving and More of Fairfield, The Fairfield Gaelic American Club, Billy’s Bakery, Athletic Shoe Factory, The Pantry of Fairfield, Thomas J. Event schedule
7:45 a.m. Race, Walk & Kids Run registration begins
8:30 a.m. GBYO hosts the Kids Fun Run on the track ($10)
9 a.m. 1.8 mile non-competitive walk (self-timed)
9:10 a.m. race registration ends
9:15 a.m. 3.5 mile race starts
9:30 a.m. Refreshments served. Awards after the last finisher crosses the line

The Fairfield Gaelic American Club is back as  a premier partner.
After the awards at Tomlinson Middle School, the Gaelic American Club will host a post-race gathering at its location on Beach Road. All participants 21 & over will receive two free beers.

All Donnelly Dash participants will be eligible for a prize giveaway.
Free soft drinks for under 21 and great Irish food on sale.
The Gaelic American Club is at 74 Beach Rd., just 7/10 mile from Tomlinson Middle School.

Run & Walk participants can look forward to: T-shirts to all pre-registered and first 72 on race day; use of the gym and bathrooms at the school; great course, mostly flat, with a small rise at 2 miles; GBYO music on the course and at the start/finish and Donnelly family Irish treats.

Plenty of parking is available across the street at the Fairfield Railroad Station.

All Kids Runs coordinated by the GBYO with the aid of Donna Cramond. Varying distances offered to meet the needs of all ages. There is a $10 fee that includes a shirt, ribbons and food.

There will be awards to overall male & female winners and three deep in age groups from 9 & Under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, and 10 year age groups to 80-plus.

There will be a post-race buffet featuring the best of Fairfield County: The Pantry, Billy’s Bakery, Donnelly family homemade offerings, Einstein’s Bagels, Trader Joe’s Fruit ,  Village Bagels and Propel Zero Fluids.

$25 pre-registration  by 6 p.m. on April 10; $30 on race day (special $15 entry fee for 18 & Under pre-reg and race day), free for 70 & over with the fee waived
Kids Fun Run: register online to guarantee a shirt. Just $10 with finisher ribbons and shirts. Kids reg on race day may not have shirts available.

The event can never have too many volunteers, so consider helping on race day or bringing friends and family with you who can join us to produce the best and safest event possible.
