Dancin' on Valentine's Day

Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Southport held a night of dinner and dancing this Valentine’s Day at its studio. The studio teamed up with local restaurants, Artisan at the Delamar hotel,  Martels French restaurant in Southport, Bobby Q’s of Westport, Flipside Burger in Faifield, and Depietros of Westport. Dean Martin impersonator Jack Lynn sang romantic songs from the rat pack era. The night also featured dance lessons, dancing, wine and cheese, and coffee and desserts from Alina’s bakery in Fairfield.

Fred Astaire Dance Studios has been teaching couples to dance together for over 65 years. The location in Southport opened in December of 2013 and has dance parties every Friday night from 8:30-10 p.m. Once a month they bring in live music for their students to experience on a Saturday evening. Fred Astaire offers private and group lessons from Monday-Friday, from 1-10, and Saturday, from 9-2
