Bridgeport and Fairfield Congregations celebrate Purim together

Congregations Rodeph Sholom, Bridgeport, and Beth El, Fairfield come together Sunday, March 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a joint Purim Carnival to be held at Congregation Beth El, Fairfield Woods Road, Fairfield.

There will be games, prizes and a BBQ lunch to kick-off the Purim holiday. Games include bean bag toss, lollipop prize tree, penny toss, human balloon pop and more, there is sure to be something for kids of all school ages to enjoy. There will be prizes for every child and chances to win raffle and silent auction items, including, games, toys, stuffed animals, puzzles, gift certificates and more — donated by local merchants. The BBQ lunch includes hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, veggie burgers, chips, and drinks available for purchase. Carnival tickets are available at the door.

Purim is celebrated Wednesday, March 4, at 5:45 p.m., at Rodeph Sholom, Park Avenue, Bridgeport with the reading of the Megillah, costume parade and sing-along parody. A buffet deli and vegetarian dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Dinner: $15/ages 12+, $10/ages 4-11, Free/under 3. Reservations are required. Call 203-334-0159 or 203-374-5544.
