Pequot Library offers “Giving Station” to donate to non-profits

givingdayFairfield County’s Giving Day on Thursday, March 5, from midnight-11:59 p.m. is Fairfield County’s initiative to increase local philanthropy in the region. It is presented by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation with lead sponsor Bank of America. The premise is 24-hours to give where you live! Donations are accepted through a safe and secure site through FCGives.org. The public may support any of its favorite nonprofits with as little as a $10 online donation.

Pequot Library and Fairfield University are the two 2015 Giving Stations in the town of Fairfield. Pequot Library’s Giving Station will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. As a Giving Day Community Partner a convenient and designated computer kiosk will be set up so donations, to any nonprofit, may be made throughout the day. Plus a real-live helper will be available if assistance is needed.

Pequot Library’s special programs throughout Giving Day include: 10-noon Genealogy Workshop: How To, led by Robyn Swan Filippone, MLS; 10:30-11 a.m. Storytime for kids led by a Pequot Librarian; 3:30-4 See Our Tiffany Windows Talk by Heather-Marie Montilla, MPA; 4-4:30 Tiffany Window Paper Collage Workshop for kids led by Heather-Marie Montilla, MPA. Suggested donation for these programs is $10 online through Fairfield County’s Giving Day.

The public can make one or more online donations throughout the day, from midnight-11:59 p.m. and help their selected nonprofits win prizes equaling more than $20,000.
