Warde in tie for lead in Class L wrestling

Fairfield Warde and New Milford with 76 points each are tied for first place at the Class L championships after one day of wrestling at Bristol Central High.

Middletown (64) is third, followed by Fairfield Ludlowe (54) and Daniel Hand (52.5) from Madison.

Warde’s Alex Steele (113 pounds), Jack Price (120), Timmy Kane (126), Aaron Beinstein (132), Charlie Kane (138), Dan Ebert (145), Michael Pellegino (160), Aaron Addotey (182), Jordi Proskinitopo (195), John Ocano (220) and Tyler Mazut (heavyweight) all advanced to Saturday’s morning’s championship quarterfinal round.

As did Ludlowe’s Austin Sherman (113 pounds), George Wales (120), Bobby Clark (138), Chase Lind (152), Lee Stenild-Johansen (170) and Billy Stapleton (heavyweight).
