Norwalk Hospital has appointed Edward Mahony as the new chair of its Board of Directors. He replaces Diane Allison, who completed her term as chair. Mahony, a Fairfield resident, was unanimously approved for the office during the recent Norwalk Hospital annual meeting.

“I’m humbled and excited by this opportunity to continue Diane’s work with the Norwalk Hospital team and the communities that the Hospital serves,” said Mahony.

Mahony joined the Norwalk Hospital Board in 2011, and since that time he has served on several board committees, including Finance, Audit & Corporate Compliance, and Quality.

“Ed is a valued member of the Board, so we’re delighted to have him play an expanded role as we continue improving access to an array of high quality healthcare services,” said Norwalk Hospital President Michael Daglio.

Mahony is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Purdue Pharma, where he is responsible for all fiscal, procurement, and information technology matters. He joined Purdue in 1993, following successful tenures at Bristol-Myers Squibb and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
