Warde's Lobsenz pins way into FCIAC wrestling final

FI-wrestlingIt did not take long for Fairfield Warde’s Alex Lobsenze, the top seed in the FCIAC wrestling championship’s 195-pound class, to win a spot in the finals.

Lobsenze pinned No. 5 Steffen Nobles of Wilton in 50 seconds. The only quicker pin so far in the tournament came in the other 195-pound semifinal match: No. 3 Eric Henry of Danbury pinned No. 7 Aidan Donovan of New Canaan in 28 seconds.

The FCIAC championships, in all weight classes, is going on all day at New Canaan High School. Lobsenze and Henry will face each other for the 195-pound title later on Saturday, Feb. 14.
