Stenild-Johansen puts another Fairfield wrestler in finals

FI-wrestlingFairfield Ludlowe’s Lee Stenild-Johansen, the No. 2 seed in the FCIAC wrestling championship’s 170-pound class, won a spot in the finals after a 10-7 decision over No. 3 Vasili Nikiforides of Brien McMahon High School on Saturday, Feb. 14.

The FCIAC championships, in all weight classes, is going on all day at New Canaan High School.

Stenild-Johansen will face top-ranked Joey Ryan of Trumbull who beat Matt Adam of Danbury in a 6-4 decision in the other semifinal match in the 170-pound class.

Notes: Earlier on Saturday, Ludlowe’s Austin Sherman won his 113-pound semifinal match… Ludlowe’s George Wales won his 120-pound semifinal match… Warde’s Tim Kane won his 126-pound semifinal match… Warde’s Dan Ebert won his 145-pound semifinal match… Ludlowe’s Chase Lind won his 152-pound semifinal match… Aaron Addotey of Warde was pinned by Xaiver Bass of Harding in the 182 pound semifinal match.
