Ludlowe's Sherman makes it to FCIAC wrestling final

Austin Sherman of Fairfield Ludlowe, ranked No. 2, in the 113-pound class of the FCIAC wrestling championships, won in overtime in his semifinal match on Saturday.

Sherman beat Brandon Aguda of Greenwich, 4-2, in overtime, in New Canaan on Saturday morning, Feb. 14.

No. 5 Aarin Occhipinti of Danbury beat No. 1 ranked Alex Steele of Fairfield Warde, 3-2, in the other semifinal. Occhipiniti and Sherman will face off for the 113-pound title later Saturday.

The FCIAC championships, in all weight classes, is going on all day at New Canaan High School.
