Dragons win one of three

The Greens Farms Academy field hockey team went 1-2 last week, losing 6-1 to Convent of the Sacred Heart, losing 4-2 to Rye Country Day, and defeating Miss Porters 3-0.
Against Convent, the Dragons had trouble matching the impressive ball movement and speed of their opponent.
Junior Maggie Sherin scored GFA’s lone goal after dodging a few players and blasting a shot from the top of the circle.
Senior Madison Leonard and junior Olivia Taylor from Fairfield played well.
Against Rye, GFA found itself down 1-0 early, but junior Caitlin Rummelsburg from Fairfield answered five minutes later on a penalty corner.
Rye capitalized on opportunities in the second half scoring two quick goals.
Leonard scored for the Dragons to bring the score to 3-2, but Rye scored on a breakaway to seal the victory.
Senior Ashley Hutchison, junior JJ Rattray and sophomore Juliet Fontana from Fairfield played strong defensively for GFA.
Against Miss Porters, GFA earned its second shutout of the season.
Taylor scored and sophomore Tade Waters scored twice in the victory.
