UPDATED CT SNOW TOTALS: About 9 inches has come down in one CT community

Snow totals continue to increase in northern parts of the state, especially along the Interstate 84 corridor, from Waterbury east to the Massachusetts border.

Much less snow has fallen in southern Connecticut, although those totals increased in the early afternoon when the snowfall intensified in these areas.

Following are snow totals in inches for Connecticut as of 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, as reported by the state Department of Transportation.

Union — 8   (northeastern CT)

Meriden — 7

Vernon — 7   (near Hartford)

Wethersfield — 6.5   (near Hartford)

Mansfield — 6.75   (eastern CT, near UConn)

Litchfield — 6.5

East Granby — 6   (near Hartford)

Avon — 5.75   (near Hartford)

North Canaan — 5.75   (Litchfield County)

Colchester — 5.5   (eastern CT)

Thomaston — 5.5   (Litchfield County)

Winchester — 5.5   (Litchfield County)

Putnam — 5.25   (northeastern CT)

Farmington — 4.25

Haddam — 3   (southeastern CT)

New Haven — 3

Norwich — 3   (southeastern CT)

Beacon Falls — 2.75

Waterbury seems to have the jackpot with this storm so far, with northwestern, central and northeastern parts of the state picking up the most snow as of the late morning. In contrast, there’s been very little accumulation in southwestern Connecticut so far, although that is expected to change this afternoon and evening.
