Girls hockey: ND-F blanks Masuk

The Notre Dame-Fairfield girls hockey team blanked Masuk 5-0 at The Rinks at Shelton on Friday.

Sierra Chavez scored twice, and Emily Rowland, Sierra O’Keefe and Kelly Kuryla also hit the net for the Lancers.

Despite the loss, the Panthers had a strong performance, Masuk Coach Andrew Townsend noted. The fourth-year club team is facing better and better competition is it gets closer to becoming an official junior varsity program next winter.

“We’re starting to play a more competitive schedule,” Townsend noted. “They’re getting better every day.”
