Stapleton's win by fall leads Ludlowe

With the score 41-30 and two weights to go, Fairfield Ludlowe heavyweight Billy Stapleton secured the win with a pin and coach Nick Garoffolo’s Falcons defeated Brien McMahon from Norwalk, 47-36, on Thursday.
Ludlowe posted seven pins and a victory by 15-point technical fall to improve to 9-5.
Other pinners for Ludlowe were Austin Sherman 120, George Wales 126, Bobby Clark 145, Chase Lind 160, Lee Stenild-Johansen 170 and Nate Nelson 195.
Marcus Sherrod at 152 had a tech fall.
“This was a great team win,” Garoffolo said. “Because of the snow storm, we lost two practice days and were forced to move five wrestlers up a weight class but still managed to come away with a win.”
This Saturday, Ludlowe hosts the Ludlowe Legend Duals with Conard from West Hartford, Norwalk, Barlow-Immaculate, Stratford and Notre Dame of Fairfield. All teams will wrestle five matches. Wrestling starts at 9 a.m.
