Jam band Max Creek returns to FTC

For more than 40 years, Max Creek have been blending the music of Americana, country, rock, calypso, and jazz. Now these troubadours return to Fairfield Theatre Company’s intimate StageOne venue on Friday, Feb. 6, at 7:30, 70 Sanford Street.

Having built an ever-expanding multi-generational fan base, concentrated mostly in the North East as well as nationwide over the years, Creek is considered to be one of the first “Jambands” and continue to be innovators of the improv “jamband” scene.  With a current catalog that’s over 200 songs, it’s no question as to why devoted fans continue to follow this band night after night.

Creek now returns to StageOne for a night that will feature a set of music mixed with rock, country, reggae, soul, calypso that only Creek knows how to perform. Their enjoyment is noticeable, and their stage is full of smiles and laughter, both during and between songs. All one has to do is glance into the crowd to see that the feeling is contagious with rockers, ballads, deep jams and crowd sing-alongs all tucked into their perfect performance.

Come down and hear and for yourself why Max Creek is, a multi-generational musical stew and why Billy Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead and Mike Gordon of Phish are among Creek’s longtime fans.

For tickets, at $25 advance; members save $3, visit fairfieldtheatre.org or call 203-259-1036.
