Junior Women’s Club conducts January meeting

JuniorWomensClubFairfield1The Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield will hold its January general meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 7:30 p.m., at the Osborn Hill School Library, 760 Stillson Road, Fairfield.

There will be a special addition to the evening — Laura Fasano, chairman of the Burr Gardens Advisory Committee, will be there to accept a check for $2,500 from the club. This donation is to help with the Burr Gardens Tea House Renovation Project, and is to commemorate the Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield’s 50th Anniversary.

The meeting also will feature the installation of the 2015 Executive Board, review of 2014 Santa’s House results, and planning for the upcoming Membership Drive in March and Spelling Bee in April.

The process for selecting the Junior Women’s Club 2015 CARE (Consideration and Respect for Everyone) Partnership will begin during January’s general meeting. The club has received many applications and is looking forward to selecting a non-profit organization to partner with for the year. The organization who is ultimately selected will receive the majority of the proceeds from 2015 A Visit to Santa’s House event. The monies usually range between $5,000 and $10,000.

Open to women in Fairfield and surrounding towns, the JWC is a non-profit service organization that gives members the chance to make new friends while giving back to the greater community through social and personal enrichment programs, fundraisers, and local events.
