Animal shelter needs dog beds

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor:

The Bridgeport Animal Shelter has come quite far recently, with a new facility that cares for many more animals than the previous location would allow. But the pups are in need of soft beds.

Presently the dogs sleep on hard surfaces that leave welts and sores on their legs. Danbury’s shelter recently purchased, with volunteer-raised donations, 12 such beds for their facility. Bridgeport, however, is the largest shelter in the state, and they’d like so much to have 100 such beds.

Yes, the world seems like it’s on fire these days, and good deeds seem almost irrelevant. But these beautiful dogs don’t know about those big problems; all they know is fear, uncertainty and that their legs hurt.

If you find it in your heart to help, please find the Kuranda Dog and Cat Bed Company at Kuranda.com, or call them, toll free, at 1-800-752-5308. Just ask about donated beds for the Bridgeport Animal Control.

And please come and visit the new shelter! It’s at 236 Evergreen Street. The phone number is 203-576-7727. There are a lot of pups as well as cats who’d like nothing better than to be loved and love you in return. Thank you so much!
