Dragons defeat CHS in girls hoop

The Greens Farms Academy girls varsity basketball team won its only game of the week when it defeated the Christian Heritage School Kingsmen, 28-18.
The Kingsmen started out the game with a quick 5-0 lead, but the Dragons were able to find senior captain Claire Comey (Westport) for two long range back-to-back buckets, which gave the team their momentum back.
From there, it was all defense for the Dragons. Senior Captain Campbell Goldsmith (Darien) and sophomore Barbara Duncan (Stamford) paced the defensive intensity, finishing the game with 12 combined steals.
To start the second half, GFA had a one-point lead, which was quickly extended due to great inside passing to sophomore Olivia Sullivan (Norwalk).
Sullivan finished the game with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds with her teammates combining for numerous assists on all of her baskets.
Sophomore Caroline Rintoul (Darien) and freshman Abby Comey (Westport) also contributed strong minutes for the Dragons, who will be back in action next week as they take on NEPSAC opponents, The Millbrook School and The Westover School, both at home.
