Fairfield Library hosts job search workshop series

The Fairfield Public Library’s Jobs series resumes winter/spring programming with a presentation on job search strategies Monday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m.,  in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

Overwhelmed with advice from friends and family as you look for the ideal position? Can’t figure out where to focus your energies in the job hunt? Come learn effective job search strategies for the 21st century with a career counselor from the Connecticut Department of Labor. Registration is requested.

Other upcoming Jobs series talks include “Over 40 and Looking for Work” (2/23), “Critiquing LinkedIn Profiles” (3/30), “Job Success Panel” (4/7), “Reference USA: Career Search Strategies” (4/15) and “Strategic Online and Offline Networking” (5/12).

These presentations are part of the Library’s award-winning Jobs series, now in its sixth year. The talks are supplemented by a LinkedIn networking group, one-on-one career counseling sessions, Job Search Boot Camp, podcast recordings of over 100 past presentations (fairfieldpubliclibrary.org), and an updated collection of job-hunting books. Since January of 2012, 119 people who have attended Jobs series programs have reported they have found employment.
