Devlin sworn in; jobs and economy are priorities

Getting Connecticut’s economy back on track and fixing our aging highway and rail infrastructure are the top priorities for new State Rep. Laura Devlin (Fairfield & Trumbull) who recently was sworn in as the state representative for the 134th Assembly District.

Devlin was one among the 19 freshman Republican legislators who vowed to serve their districts over a two-year term. Devlin was encouraged by the conciliatory nature of Governor Malloy’s Inaugural Address and his words about working together across party lines to pass meaningful bi-partisan legislation.

Devlin said, “This session we must work to return our state to the economic prominence it once enjoyed and its residents deserve. Let’s roll up our sleeves and work to make Connecticut tops again. I want to make Connecticut an affordable place people can live, work, have a family and retire in.”

The 2015 legislative session runs from Jan. 7 to June 3.
