Ludlowe fifth at Invitational

Fairfield Ludlowe wrestling finished fifth at the 18-team Fairfield Warde Invitational.
Coach Nick Garoffolos’ Falcons had seven place winners.
Chase Lind at 154 pounds dominated his weight class to win the tournament. He had a bye, a pin in 2:26 seconds against Mario Morales of Maloney of Meriden in the quarters, a 12-0 decision against Ryan Juliano of Simsbury in the semi-finals and won 5-0 in the finals against Jake Barr of Londonberry (NH).
Austin Sherman at 115 finished second with a bye then a pin in 1:34 against Nick Gonzalez of Brien McMahon of Norwalk, a 4-2 decision against Craig Santos of Londonberry in the semis and lost 5-2 to Alex Steele of Warde in the finals.
George Wales (122), Bobby Clark (140) and Marcus Sherrod (147) all took thirds with four wins and a loss on the day.
Nate Nelson (197) took fourth with three wins and two losses and Lee Stenild Johansen (172) took fifth with three wins and two losses.
Ludlowe next visits Warde on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
