Fourth-ranked Warde wrestlers capture title

Coach Jason Shaughnessy’s Mustangs, ranked fourth in the state, improved to 7-0 on the season by posting five victories and winning the Glastonbury Duals.

The Fairfield Warde wrestling team took home the Glastonbury Duals title on Saturday.

Warde rang up wins over Berlin, 55-21, Branford 67-6, Terryville 70-12, Maloney of Meriden 66-3 and Derby High, 69-3.
Jack Price at 120 pounds, Tim Kane at 126, Charlie Kane at 138, Dan Ebert at 152 and heavyweight Tyler Mazut all went 5-0.
The Mustangs will host the Warde Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 3, with wrestling beginning at 9:30 a.m.
