Obituary: Roland P. Cyr, 86, of Derby

Roland P. Cyr, 86, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2014, at Masonicare in Wallingford. He was the beloved husband of Claire Maietto Cyr.

Mr. Cyr was born in Rumford, Maine on March 17, 1928, son of the late Edmond and Elise O’Clair Cyr.

A resident of Derby for twenty years, he was previously employed as an electrical technician at Avco Lycoming in Stratford. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James Cyr (Judy) of Fairfield, a daughter, Stacey Spagnuolo (Joseph) of Fairfield, a brother, Omer Cyr (Ruth) of Monroe, grandchildren, Ryan and Jeremy Cyr of Fairfield and several nieces and nephews.

Per Mr. Cyr’s request, his funeral service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
