Burglary and attempted break-in reported on Schiller Road


Police responded to reports of a burglary and an attempted break-in at Schiller Road residences Saturday night, Dec. 6.

The occupants of the house reporting the burglary told responding officers that they returned home that evening to find the rear door unlocked and a $400 iPad missing from the kitchen counter. Further inspection by police revealed two puncture holes in a first floor window screen, debris on the window sill, and wet dirty spots on the floor and dresser. The residents also discovered $146 missing from the master bedroom dresser, along with a $190 green Coach watch and a jewelry box valued at $20.

Later the same evening, a resident of a different house on Schiller Road told police that while in an upstairs bedroom she heard banging in the rear of the house near the garage, and then heard footsteps on the front porch. When she saw a police car pull up to her neighbors’ house, she realized there might have been a burglar on the prowl.

There was no apparent damage to the second house.
