Police say Bridgeport resident Michael Kollar altered a prescription for Oxycontin, which he then tried to have filled at the CVS pharmacy at 1968 Black Rock Turnpike.

The pharmacist at the store noticed that the original prescription, for 10 mg. pills, had been written over to read 30 mg. The pharmacist confirmed the unauthorized change with the prescribing physician, and then called police, who arrested Kollar, 50, on charges of forgery and alteration of a prescription.

Kollar was released on a promise to appear and is due in court on Nov. 17.
