Notre Dame's historic run ends on penalty kicks

Notre Dame of Fairfield’s girls soccer team saw its historic season come to a close in the Class S state semifinals when coach Wayne Mones’ Lancers lost to Portland High, 1-0 (4-3 on penalty kicks), in Guilford on Tuesday.

Notre Dame posted a program-best 15-6-1 record. Portand (10-9-1) will play Housatonic (16-3-0) on Saturday for the title.

Samantha LaValle, Bryanna D’Arcangelo, and Brianna Kydes found the mark on PK’s.
