Fairfield falls to Milford in SCPW final

The Fairfield Giants Jr. Midget’s hopes of becoming Southern Connecticut Pop Warner football champions were dashed on Nov. 9, as they succumbed to a tough Milford squad, 16-0. It was their first loss of the season.
The Giants made mistakes early on and Milford capitalized, scoring on its second possession following a Fairfield fumble.
Fairfield trailed 8-0 at the half and then struggled to get Milford’s offense off the field in the second half, as the Eagles dominated the line of scrimmage and time of possession.
The Giants threatened a couple of times but their usually potent offense was smothered by a disciplined, swarming Milford defense.
The Giants finished the 2014 campaign with an impressive 9-1 record and raised awareness and approximately $7,000 for ALS research with donations they solicited for each victory.
