Prep football stays in state playoff chase

Colton Smith threw for two scores and ran for a touchdown to lead the Fairfield Prep football team to a 42-0 SCC victory over Hamden High on Friday.
Coach Tom Shea’s Jesuits are 7-2 and Hamden is 2-7.
Smith threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to John Dellisanti to open the scoring and Hank Healey added the first of six conversion kicks.
John Snopkowski was on the receiving end of a 6-yard pass for a touchdown, before Smith found the end zone on a 40-yard jaunt to take the score to 21-0 after one quarter.
Joe Ganim scored from 2 yards out in the second period and Allen Gibson on a 5-yard run in the third.
Calvin Reed returned a recovered fumble 34 yards to close out the scoring in the final quarter.
