Warde sports update

Marisa Neamontis set up the attack with 17 assists when Fairfield Warde opened its girls volleyball season with a 3-0 victory over Harding High to open the season.
Tatiana Fernandes had 13 service points and nine aces for the Mustangs in the 25-15, 25-15, 25-14 FCIAC triumph.
Leah Walsh had 10 service points, six aces, and three kills.
Warde girls cross country
Warde took three-of-four decisions in a meet on the 4,000-meter course at Waveny Park in New Canaan on Thursday.
Cate Allen placed overall with a time of 15:43, as the Mustangs defeated Brien McMahon of Norwalk, New Canaan  and Norwalk and lost to Wilton.
Caroline Keough was second (15:50).
Warde boys cross country
Warde swept a meet with New Canaan, Norwalk and Wilton on the 5,000-meter course at Waveny Park in New Canaan on Thursday.
Aiden Fiol placed second overall with a time of 17:04 behind Wilton’s Spencer Brown at 16:30.
Connor O’Day was third (17:28), followed by Kyle Byrne in fourth (17:28), and Nick Gans in fifth (17:29).
Warde girls soccer
Emily Pullen scored two goals when Warde defeated Stamford High, 6-1, on Friday.
Nicole Ciccarelli, Katie Tangney, Kaleigh Fedeleo and Nicole Connor all scored for the Mustangs (4-0).
Carley Strachan, Nell Carpenter, Megan Overby and Jenny Pullen had assists.
Katie Brennan had one save and Strachan two.
Brennan and Strachan combined in goal to shut out Greenwich High (4-0-1) for Warde (3-1-1), as the two FCIAC unbeatens played to a 0-0 tie on Monday.
