Ludlowe advances to FCIAC final

The Fairfield Ludlowe (18-2) girls volleyball team will play Darien High (20-0) for the FCIAC title on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Ludlowe.
Seeded third, coach Meghan Skelton’s Falcons knocked off seventh-seeded Trumbull High, 3-1 (23-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-19) in Thursday’s semifinal. Top-seeded Darien defeated fifth-seeded Greenwich High 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-6).
April Cooke had 14 kills and two blocks, Caitlyn Sprinkle had 10 kills and Olivia Auray five kills to lead the attack.
Sprinkle had 13 service points, including four aces.
Sprinkle had 11 digs and Auray nine to key the defense.
Trumbull (12-8) was led by Sydney Adams (16 assists,  five digs), Mia Hampford (12 digs, six kills) and Kristen Peterson (14 digs).
