Falcons fall to Vikings in overtime

Jake Tymon kicked a 24-yard field goal to give the Fairfield Ludlowe football team the lead, but Westhill High responded with a 1-yard touchdown run by Blake Newcomer on its overtime possession to give the Stamford-based team a 23-20 FCIAC win over the Falcons at Taft Field on Friday.
Both clubs are now 3-4 on the season.
After exchanging safeties, Westhill took a 9-2 lead into the half before Ludlowe tied the game in the third quarter.
Bryan Pacewicz found Patrick O’Leary for a 37-yard touchdown pass and Tymon booted the conversion.
The Falcons went in front 17-9 in the final period on Pacewicz’s 7-yard scoring pass to O’Leary and a Greg Burtula conversion run.
Westhill got those eight points back on a Newcomer 1-yard run and his two-point reception on the conversion pass from Nasser Louis to force overtime.
