A school bus was stuck from behind last Thursday, sending nine children to the hospital.

A school bus was hit by a car while stopped at a bus stop on Kings Highway Cutoff on Thursday, Oct. 16, police said.

Nine children on the bus were taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center after complaining of pain. The driver, a teacher, allegedly struck the school bus, en route to Fairfield Woods Middle School,  from behind after driving around the corner near Chestnut Street.

Police said there may be a “line of sight” issue in that location, which is on a curve, that makes it difficult for drivers to stop. Police are investigating whether the site is appropriate for a bus stop.

The driver was ticketed for failure to drive right.
