Fairfield lawyer named state chair

Scott M. Charmoy of Fairfield will serve as the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys’ (NACBA’s) new state chair of Connecticut.

Charmoy will serve as the official liaison between the group’s leadership in Washington, D.C., and its member attorneys, bankruptcy judges and other court officials in the state, as well as serving as a primary contact for local media regarding consumer bankruptcy issues.

Charmoy is an active member of the Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. He was admitted to practice before the Connecticut State Court in 1995, the U. S. District Court, District of Connecticut, in 1995, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in 1998 and the Illinois Supreme Court in 1996.

“It is an honor and a great opportunity to be part of the organization’s leadership,” Charmoy said.
