Kupchick has tenacity to make mark for future generations

To the Editor:

While I wear an official hat in Fairfield as a member of the Board of Selectman, I am writing this letter in support of state Rep. Brenda Kupchick as a friend and as a father of two children.

I first met Brenda in 1995 when she was a young mother, and when she was working to bring a voice to those who were being ignored by elected officials and engaging in decisions that were affecting them.

Brenda showed great tenacity, a commitment to education and to children and she always applied research and great aptitude to issues facing our community.

That tenacity and dedication has only become stronger over the years, and as a state representative, Brenda continues to be a voice for those who are not heard — from creating an advocacy group to help small business owners to penning legislation to protect animals.

Brenda always makes decisions through the prism of principle and what is right, which explains why she was endorsed by the Connecticut Independent Party, and why she has been able to forge consensus across the aisle on legislation.

I am proud to say that Brenda Kupchick is my state representative, and I have immense confidence, as I did when I first met her, that she will lead a better path forward and for the next generation.
