A man allegedly tried to steal $118 worth of items from Whole Foods Saturday, police said.

A manager at the Fairfield Whole Foods Market reported to police that a well-groomed white man, about five feet, nine inches tall, placed items totaling $118 in a reusable shopping bag while going through the store Saturday afternoon at about 2:30.

Employees confronted the man when he tried to leave without paying, and he put down the bag and rode away on a silver or blue motorcycle. Whole Foods staff said the man looked to be in his twenties.
