Bridgeport man arrested in Fairfield computer theft case

Bridgeport resident Hector Cruz, 41, was arrested and charged with burglary and larceny in connection with the theft of a laptop computer from an office on Black Rock Tpke. in Fairfield on April 1.

An office worker at Fairfield Woods Plaza told police at the time that her laptop was missing after she stepped away from her office briefly during the afternoon.

The complainant’s coworker described suspicious persons on the property, and after an investigation, Fairfield police successfully sought a warrant for Cruz’s arrest.

Police in Wallingford took Cruz into custody Oct. 4 and delivered him to the Fairfield Police Department, according to the report. Cruz was held on a $5,000 bond and given a court date of Oct. 14.
