Underscoring their commitment to common sense leadership and an unwavering dedication to the community, the Fairfield Republican candidates for the state Senate and General Assembly held a campaign kick-off event on Sept. 26.

State Senate candidate Tony Hwang, along with state Rep. Brenda Kupchick and state representative candidates Laura Devlin and Carol Way, spoke about the need to end one party rule in state government. Fairfield resident and Secretary of the State candidate Peter Lumaj and Judge of Probate Daniel Caruso were also in attendance.

Volunteers from multiple generations were on hand to celebrate the kick-off and came together to mark the need for balanced voices in Hartford.

The event was held at Tony Hwang’s headquarters, located at 25 South Benson Road, a hub for the 2014 election, where volunteers may phone bank on behalf of candidates. It also serves as a meeting place prior to hitting the campaign trail.
