Kate Mohr leads GFA harriers

The Greens Farms Academy girls team won five head-to-head matches when the Fairchester Athletic Association opened its regular season at Sherwood Island while losing three.
All nine FAA schools ran in a 5K race that saw 100 girls finish.
Senior Kate Mohr from Fairfield came in 10th overall at 22:13.
Senior Haley McCalpin clocked a 22:57 earning her 18th place.
Junior Arabella Crawford ran very strong with a time of 25:11.
The Dragons then went on to defeat King in a close match up.
Sophomore Georgia Grellier led the Dragons to victory finishing a tough 5K course in 26:15.
Rounding out the top five GFA finishers were sophomore Rachel Garofoli at 28:24, junior Emily Cahill from Southport at 29:55, junior Priya Gupta at 30:09 and freshman Deborah Kraeuchi at 30:10.
At the Canterbury Invitational in New Milford, GFA took seventh in a field of 10 strong prep schools.
Mohr finished sixth overall in a field of 71 runners, with her career best 21:55.
Junior Liza Rebold also clocked her career best, finishing 41st overall at 25:14.
