Brooklawn Discount Liquor, at 752 Brooklawn Avenue, was robbed at gunpoint September 27.

Fairfield police responded to a panic alarm at the store, at 752 Brooklawn Avenue, just before closing time, at 8:55 p.m. on Sept. 27. The store employee manning the cash register at the time of the alleged robbery told police a man wearing a black sweatshirt and a cloth over his face came into the store, displayed a black handgun, demanded the employee’s wallet and money from the register, and told the employee to get down on the floor, which he did.

The owner of a nearby restaurant told police he saw the alleged gunman run from the store and out of sight, and then heard a car door slam and a car pull away.

The same liquor store was robbed by two as-yet unidentified armed men on the evening of Aug. 22.

Police are investigating both hold-ups.
