Police charged Fairfield resident Angel Solivan with breach of peace after allegedly shoving his girlfriend Saturday.

Fairfield police arrested Angel Solivan, 48, of Tunxis Hill Road late last Saturday night when his girlfriend’s neighbor called to report that Solivan appeared to have struck the girlfriend while the two were arguing loudly at the girlfriend’s house.

According to the police report, Solivan’s  girlfriend was trying to end a three-year relationship with him. Police determined that Solivan pushed the girlfriend into the storm door of her house several times and had been loud and verbally abusive to her.

Solivan was charged with breach of peace and released on a written promise to appear with the condition that he not go near the girlfriend, police said.

Solivan has a court date of Sept. 22.
