Kupchick will not accept endorsements from non-Fairfield groups

To the Editor:

It has been a great honor to serve as your state representative for the 132nd District. While politics in Hartford can be frustrating, I’ve worked hard to maintain a grounded, local perspective to understand how statewide decisions impact the reality of our town, schools, seniors and small businesses.

I believe my past service on the RTM and Board of Education for six years has given me valuable insight in to what can and should be done on the state level for our community. I never want to lose that focus.

While some organizations will choose to endorse me based on my voting record, I wanted to announce that I will not seek any endorsements from groups outside of Fairfield. All too often, lobbyists and special interests attempt to drive legislation, but my only concern is the best interests of the residents of Fairfield.

I do work with and respect many national and statewide groups, which provide invaluable knowledge and service. However, I will never take my eye off the ball for the people I proudly serve in Fairfield and Southport.

The only endorsement I want is from the good people I represent.
