Tarlov, 59, had worked for 1010 WINS radio during the 1980s and her husband, who announced her death in a statement emailed to CBS, is a senior vice president of finance at the network.  The couple had a son, Matthew, and a daughter, Anna.

“My wife was beautiful in every way imaginable,” Wittman said in the statement, a portion of which was posted on the CBS website. “Jill was the most amazing mother to Matthew and Anna, who taught them above all that kindness, compassion, and a spirit for life were the right morals to live by. Everyone who had ever met her was somehow made better by her company. Even though she has been taken from us far too soon, her spirit will live on forever. On behalf of our family, I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and request privacy during the difficult times ahead.”

CBS reported last week that Tarlov was hit by bicyclist Jason Marshall, 31, Friday afternoon and was rushed to New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center with head trauma. Tarlov was reportedly in a crosswalk at 62nd Street and West drive when Marshall, riding his bike in the bike lane, crashed into her.

Marshall was treated at a different local hospital for minor injuries and released.
