Junior Midgets defeat Hamden, 34-0

The Fairfield Giants Jr. Midgets continue to best their opponents in the early stages of the 2014 season. They improved to 3-0 this past weekend with a 34-0 win over the Hamden Hurricanes.
Five players scored for the Giants, once again showing off the myriad of weapons in their arsenal.
Finn Duran had the ball knocked loose following a 20-yard gain, but the ball took a fortuitous bounce into the hands of Jeff Meyers. He advanced the ball to the 10-yard line and Sam Roberto scored on the next snap.
Fairfield has been very successful recovering onside kicks this season and did just that on the ensuing kickoff, as Sam Palmer smothered the ball turning the ball back over to the Giants.
They would score again a few plays later after Hayden Beiser connected with John Munson on a well-executed pattern to put the ball on the five-yard line.
Peter Schwartz capped the drive, punching it in for his first touchdown of the season. Brian Kiremidjian followed with the PAT.
The game was blown wide open when Brandon Moutinho and Anthony Espinoza demonstrated their versatility and scored for the second straight week. Beiser found Palmer in the end zone for the PAT to end the half.
The final score came when Munson scooped up a Hamden fumble and brought it in for six. Ryan McManus contributed to the scoring, rumbling in for the PAT.
Fairfield, which has only allowed 12 points in three games, will be tested next week when they head to New Haven to play its toughest opponent of the season.
