Bigelow launches cross-country tour

Bigelow Tea will launch its Bigelow Mobile Tea Bar today, Sept. 16, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the company’s Fairfield headquarters and tea packaging plant with members of the Bigelow family, corporate employees and dignitaries attending. The event takes place rain or shine and is open to the public from 2 to 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Bigelow Tea is going on the road this fall to welcome and inspire tea lovers across the country with its story and myriad flavors of the world’s favorite brewed beverage.

Timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary celebration of the company’s founding, the Bigelow Mobile Tea Bar will offer fresh-brewed samples of popular teas such as Constant Comment, introduce new flavors and share the  Bigelow family story and its passion for tea with tea lovers across the U.S. through a contemporary, mobile and interactive experience.

From a customized 1977 Air Stream travel trailer that has been retrofitted to welcome the public, visitors will have the opportunity to taste new tea products. Tea Lovers will also learn about the history and culture of tea, top quality ingredients that go into American-crafted Bigelow Teas and the Bigelow family’s commitment to sustainability, the community and its consumers.

The Bigelow Mobile Tea Bar will also offer visitors a photo opportunity to share a cup with “Biggie,” Bigelow Tea’s walking mug mascot and share their photos and experience with friends and family via social media, including Facebook and Twitter.

Following the launch, the Bigelow Mobile Tea Bar will open doors at street fairs and festivals in major market cities across the country, beginning with Boston on Sept. 21, and New York on Sept. 27, and continuing to Minneapolis, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, Houston, Atlanta and Tampa.

Along with its public appearances, the Bigelow Mobile Tea Bar will also visit retailers along the way to welcome consumers and enhance their knowledge and appreciation of innovative and award-winning Bigelow Tea products.
