Nagy's summer surge continues with Salt Cats

Bentley University right fielder Tom Nagy from Fairfield, who’ll return in 2015 for his final year of eligibility with the Falcons, captured the Home Run Derby earlier this month as part of All-Star game festivities for the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) in Houghton, N.Y.
Nagy, who is playing for the Syracuse Salt Cats, hit a dozen home runs to win the HR derby championship, matching his total during his first two years in a Bentley uniform.
Later during the All-Star Game, Nagy broke up a perfect game with a lead-off single in the sixth inning.
In 37 games overall for the Salt Cats this summer, Nagy is hitting .268 with a home run and 18 RBIs.
Nagy, voted to the 2014 All-Northeast-10 Conference third team, was Bentley’s clean-up hitter in all 40 games this past spring. He led the Falcons in home runs (five), RBIs (30), total bases (78) and slugging (.491) while batting .283.
