The Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival has named The Center for Family Justice as its 2014 beneficiary.

The theme for the festival is “Cherishing Family: The Greatest Gift Of All.” Shaun Amberg, Donna Craft and Catherine Gallagher will serves as tri-chairs. This year’s festival will feature four special events — a holiday preview gala, a children’s night event, a “Christmas Around the World” party and the return of the Sunday afternoon high tea.

All proceeds from the festival, set for Dec. 4 through 7, will benefit The Center for Family Justice, which is dedicated to strengthening women and families and eliminating violence and abuse through education, intervention, advocacy and community collaboration.

The Center for Family Justice brings all domestic and sexual violence services — police officers, prosecutors, civil legal service providers, community-based advocates — under one roof at its headquarters at 753 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport. All services are offered for residents of Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull.

“We are honored, thrilled and excited to be chosen as the beneficiary for the 2014 Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival,” said Debra A. Greenwood, president and chief executive officer of The Center for Family Justice. “This could not have come at a better time for the center, as we begin our transformation from The Center for Women and Families to the first Family Justice Center in Connecticut, and the 85th in the world.

“We are still offering the same life-saving services we have always offered to those being affected by domestic and sexual violence,” she said. “It is the auxiliary services being co-located under one roof that will streamline how we turn victims into survivors.”
