Meeting June 25 on rest area, sound barriers

State Rep. Brenda Kupchick (R-132) will host an informational meeting about sound barriers and the reconstruction of the rest stop on I-95 south Wednesday, June 25, at 7 p.m. in the Fairfield Board of Education Conference Room, 501 Kings Highway East.

“I understand the I-95 rest stop renovation has raised concerns for residents in the neighborhood, the Birdcraft Sanctuary and nearby schools,” Kupchick wrote in a press release.

“Since last spring, I have been working with the town of Fairfield, the developer and the Department of Transportation during meetings at the site, at the First Selectman’s office, and walking properties with neighbors,” she added.

A rally including Audubon and the Sasqua Garden Club was held June 21.
